Prothom Alo's recent feature on sustainable interior design in Bangladesh included a long conversation with our studio about a topic close to our hearts: materials. The piece examines why so many interiors in the country are rebuilt within five years, and what it takes to design spaces that instead grow more beautiful with age.
Our team walked the reporter through the material library we maintain for every project — solid oak that deepens in colour, brass that develops a patina, plasters that gain texture with touch — and explained the three questions we ask of every surface: Will it look better in five years? Can it be repaired? Does it tell a story?
The article also highlighted our sourcing practice: working with local craftspeople and workshops wherever possible, cutting transport waste, and specifying natural, repairable materials for roughly eighty percent of every project. Sustainable design, we believe, is not a style — it is a supply chain decision.
